Privacy Policy
Mapleorbits is built on the principle that a social casino platform does not need to collect more information than it takes to operate. This document explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, why, how we use it, and what your rights are as a visitor from Canada.
1. Our guiding principle
We collect the minimum amount of information required to run Mapleorbits safely and enjoyably, and nothing more. Because we do not process payments, do not award prizes and do not require accounts, we can operate without ever collecting the information that more intrusive platforms routinely demand - full names, addresses, identification documents, tax numbers, driver's licences, payment methods or bank details.
2. What we collect automatically
When you visit any page on Mapleorbits, our hosting provider receives the standard technical information that every website on the internet receives. This typically includes:
- Your IP address, used only for content delivery and to block malicious traffic.
- Browser type, language and operating system, so pages render correctly on your device.
- The page you visited and the page that referred you, to understand which content is popular.
- Approximate region (country and province), to confirm availability in Canada.
This information is retained for a short period for security, performance monitoring and aggregate analytics, after which it is either deleted or stored only in an anonymised form.
3. What we store on your device
Mapleorbits uses a small number of browser-side technologies (cookies and local storage) to remember preferences such as your age confirmation, your cookie choice and your current virtual coin balance for a game session. None of these values are transmitted to third parties, and you can clear them at any time from your browser's privacy settings.
4. What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect payment information - there are no payments on Mapleorbits.
- We do not collect identification documents - there are no withdrawals or prize claims.
- We never collect biometric, medical or financial data.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers, fingerprinting tools or social-network pixels.
- We do not sell, rent, trade or share visitor data with any data broker.
- We do not require SIN, driver's licence, phone number or any government-issued identifier.
- We do not build behavioural profiles for advertising purposes.
5. Communications
If you write to our support team, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this only to reply to you and to improve the platform. We never add you to marketing lists and we never share your correspondence with unrelated third parties. Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably required for quality assurance, and then deleted.
6. Analytics
We use a lightweight, privacy-preserving analytics setup to understand aggregate usage - for example, how many people visited a game page, which pages are most read, and whether the platform is loading quickly. Our analytics setup does not build individual profiles, does not track you across other sites, and does not require a cookie banner beyond the essential cookie notice we already show. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar cross-site tracker.
7. Legal basis and Canadian law
Because we operate as a Canadian-oriented social entertainment platform, our processing is governed primarily by Canadian privacy law, in particular the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial equivalents such as Quebec's Law 25. Where we process any information about you, we do so on the basis of legitimate interest in operating the platform, providing you with the service you have requested, and complying with our legal obligations.
8. Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to know what personal information (if any) we hold about you, to request its correction, and to request its deletion. Because we collect so little information - and because we do not require an account - most of these rights are already satisfied by default. If you have written to our support team and would like your correspondence deleted, email [email protected] from the same address you used originally, and we will remove it within 30 days.
9. Data storage and international transfers
Server logs and support correspondence are stored on infrastructure located in Canada and in the European Union, both of which are covered by strong data protection regimes. We do not transfer personal information to jurisdictions with materially weaker protections. Where a service provider processes data on our behalf, they do so under contract and are bound by confidentiality and data-security obligations no weaker than those in this policy.
10. Security
All connections to Mapleorbits are encrypted using HTTPS. Our infrastructure is hardened against common web threats, patched on a regular schedule, and monitored for unusual activity. Because we collect no payment or identification data, the impact of any conceivable incident is inherently limited, but we treat information security as a first-class engineering concern regardless.
11. Children
Mapleorbits is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of majority in their province. If you believe a minor has interacted with Mapleorbits, please contact [email protected] and we will delete any related records immediately.
12. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy we will update the effective date at the bottom of this page and, for material changes, display a prominent notice on the home page for a reasonable period. Continued use of the platform after such a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you disagree with a change, simply stop using the platform.
13. Contact
Privacy questions and requests should be addressed to [email protected]. General questions can go to [email protected]. We aim to respond within one Canadian business day.
